On the morning of May 22nd, AYNU held a farewell ceremony for the 2025 International Chinese Language Education Volunteers. Sun Jinwei, Vice President of AYNU, the heads of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Literature, School of Business, and School of Foreign Languages, as well as representatives of international Chinese language education volunteers attended the meeting.
At the farewell ceremony, the attending leaders presented the volunteers with school badges and other souvenirs. Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office gave a pre-departure education. Representatives of the volunteers and teachers made speeches respectively.
Sun Jinwei, on behalf of AYNU, extended warm congratulations to the students for their successful selection as international Chinese language education volunteers by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education. Three hopes are put forward to the volunteers who are about to teach abroad: First, adhere to the cultural roots and be the "guiding star" of the national spirit. The cultural awareness of "rooted in China" should be taken as the foundation of our existence and the dissemination of the Chinese national spirit regarded as our core mission. Second, innovate the communication paradigm and act as a "ferryman" for mutual learning among civilizations. Guided by the principle of "creative transformation and innovative development", through the three-dimensional teaching model of "Chinese language + culture", Chinese culture can shine brilliantly in overseas classrooms. Third, deepen dialogue among civilizations and act as a "bridge builder" for exchanges between China and foreign countries. The concept of "each beauty in its own way and all beauties in common" should be upheld, and make more positive contributions to promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and foreign countries.
AYNU attaches great importance to the selection and dispatch of international Chinese language education volunteers, regarding it as an important carrier for deeply serving the strategy of globalization of Chinese culture, and is steadily advancing various tasks. Since October 2024, after the initial review and recommendation by AYNU, the examination by the department of education of Henan provincial and the assessment and training by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, 12 students of AYNU have been successfully selected. Among them, 11 students are to be sent to Thailand and 1 to Laos. Up to now, AYNU has dispatched a total of 624 international Chinese language education volunteers, covering 24 countries. The number of dispatched students has consistently ranked among the top in Henan province's universities.
