Recently,Explore Henan·Embrace Hebi·Anyang: Sino-foreign Student Study Tour, guided by Department of Education of Henan Province and hosted by Henan Provincial University Alliance for International Education in China, and co-organized by AYNU along with Zhengzhou University and other institutions, concluded successfully. The study tour group consisted of 158 Chinese and international students from 30 universities across Henan province, including 105 international students from 34 countries and regions. During the event, Wang Huaxing, Director of Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of Provincial Department of Education, and Zhou Zhaoxia, Deputy Director, along with Kong Guoqing, Party Secretary of AYNU, and Yang Xinyu and Bo Yan, presidents of AYNU, attended relevant activities.

The three-day study tour was centered around the themeTracing the Roots of Chinese Characters, Experiencing the Culture of Northern Henan. In Hebi, Chinese and international students played pickleball together and visited the ancient city of Xun County to learn about its history and folk customs, capturing the charm of northern Henan with their cameras. In Anyang, students engaged in immersive learning and hands-on activities at AYNU’s Chinese Character Culture Experience Hall and Art Exhibition Hall, trying their hand at oracle bone script calligraphy, as well as intangible cultural heritage crafts such as lacquer fans and opera mask making. They also practiced oracle bone script radio gymnastics to experience the unique charm of Chinese character culture. Additionally, the group visited the National Museum of Chinese Writing and the Yinxu Museum, exploring the origins of Chinese characters through every stroke and experiencing the profound and splendid Yin-Shang culture through oracle bones and bronze artifacts.

Wang Yuting, a student from AYNU’s Class of 2024 School of Media, and Li Siming, a Kazakhstani student from the Class of 2026 of AYNU, delivered speeches at the opening and closing ceremonies respectively.

It is noted that this event aimed to thoroughly implement national policies on deepening international education in China and enhancing Sino-foreign cultural exchanges, continuously advancing the internationalization of higher education, and strengthening the brand influence of Studying in Henan. Coinciding with the seventhInternational Chinese Language Day, the study tour closely aligned with the theme of Chinese character culture, deeply resonating with the spirit ofInternational Chinese Language Day. By integrating cultural study tours, university exchanges, and sports activities, the event created an immersive experiential system, fostering deep exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and international students, and contributing to the global dissemination of China’s outstanding traditional culture.
