
On March 28, Professor Frank Riedel from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, and his delegation visited AYNU. Vice President Sun Jinwei held a meeting with the delegation, attended by representatives from Office of Scientific Research, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and School of Resources, Environment, and Tourism.
During the meeting, Vice President Sun Jinwei provided an overview of AYNU's history, discipline development, and internationalization efforts. Professor Frank Riedel introduced Freie Universität Berlin's academic profile and the purpose of his visit. The two sides then engaged in in-depth discussions on faculty exchange programs, the establishment of joint international laboratories, and flexible talent recruitment, reaching multiple consensuses that lay a solid foundation for future collaboration.
During his visit, Professor Riedel delivered an academic lecture titled"Climate Change at the Cradle of Humankind - A Palaeo-View on Southern Africa"for faculty and students from School of Resources, Environment, and Tourism.
Professor Frank Riedel, Ph.D., Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Ecosystem Dynamics at Freie Universität Berlin. He has led 24 research projects funded by German Research Foundation (DFG) and Sino-German cooperation programs, publishing nearly 100 papers in authoritative journals in the fields of Earth Sciences and Biological Sciences.
