On the afternoon of October 16, 2024, our school held a video conference with Derby University, UK, to discuss cooperative education programs. Vice President Wang Xinquan, relevant personnel from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, as well as Vice President Alex Molasiotis and International Cooperation Director Marcus Warren from the University of Derby, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Wang Xinquan briefly introduced the basic situation of our school in terms of its rich cultural heritage, solid foundation, distinctive characteristics, and international cooperation. Alex Molasiotis provided an overview of the development of the University of Derby, while Marcus Warren shared the latest progress in the university's internationalization efforts and expressed desires to strengthen cooperation with our school. Subsequently, the two sides held in-depth discussions on issues such as cooperative education programs, mutual visits by leaders, faculty exchanges, research collaboration, and student exchanges.

Founded in 1851, the University of Derby is a renowned public comprehensive university in the UK and was among the first universities to be recognized for degree equivalency between China and the UK. The university has three campuses in Derby, Chesterfield, and Buxton, offering over 100 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees across various disciplines.. According to The Guardian’s "2020 UK University Rankings," the University of Derby ranks 26th,and it is listed among the top 10 in The Times’ "2018 UK University Education Quality Rankings."
